San Diego City College (SDCC) is located in downtown San Diego, California. SDCC is minutes away from the world famous San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, and Balboa Park. It is less than 30 minutes from the Mexican border and minutes away from the Pacific Ocean. The College is easily accessible because of its location near trolley stations, bus stations, and three major freeways.
San Diego City College is the second largest of three colleges within the San Diego Community College District. SDCC offered its first courses in 1914, making it the third community college established in California, and the oldest of the San Diego Community College District colleges. The college provides academic education for students allowing them to earn an associate degree or certificate to prepare for transfer to a four year college or university. The college also provides programs that will upgrade the employment skills of students, occupational programs that meet specific licensing requirements of the State of California. SDCC promotes economic growth and global competitiveness through education, training, and services that contribute to continuous work force improvement. Additionally, SDCC provides important and essential student services, basic skills instruction, and English as a second language to assist all students in meeting their educational needs. |

| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |

Besides the usual transfer courses, San Diego City College (SDCC) offers many unique programs. Among these include an interactive multimedia computer program and computer repair program. SDCC's biotechnology program is a model training site for the State of California. The biotechnology program trains students in instrumentation, manufacturing, and production. Courses are taught by industry professionals. Other careers offered at SDCC include radio-TV, small business operation, cosmetology, graphic design, alcohol and drug abuse counseling, nursing, electronics, child development, fitness specialist, machine and manufacturing technology, and air conditioning/heating. |
