Southwestern College is located on a 158-acre suburban campus in the heart of eastern Chula Vista. Established in 1961, the College has evolved into a comprehensive facility, helping thousands of students achieve their specific educational goals. Southwestern College has been continuously accredited by the Western Association of School and Colleges.
One of California's public community colleges, Southwestern is the only postsecondary educational institution in South San Diego County. The College is governed by a five-member governing board publicly elected to four-year terms.
