CAMPUS SUMMARY
Butte College is a fully accredited two-year community college serving the residents of Butte and Glenn counties. Course offerings include more than 50 career education programs plus a full range of classes which transfer to a four-year college or university. Situated on rolling, oak-studded land at the base of the Sierra Nevada range, the Main Campus covers 928 acres near the geographic center of Butte County. Most of the campus is undeveloped and has been designated a wildlife refuge. The College maintains three separate educational facilities in the cities of Chico and Orland, and also offers classes in most of its District's communities. For students' convenience, bus service to the Main Campus is provided from various locations throughout the district. The mission of the Butte-Glenn Community College District is to provide quality education and services to the community. This includes: degree, transfer and certificate programs in lower division arts and sciences and in vocational fields; basic skills instruction, English as a second language, and support services that help students to succeed at the postsecondary level; educational alliances and partnerships with local and regional business community in the interest of promoting economic strength, tracking workforce needs, and upgrading the workforce; adult noncredit education; and community services and programs.
