CAMPUS SUMMARY
Diablo Valley College (DVC) is one of three colleges in the Contra Costa Community College District, which was founded in 1948. DVC is a garden campus in Pleasant Hill, CA, situated on one hundred acres of gently rolling hills in view of Mt Diablo. DVC serves more than 20,000 students of all ages and is one of the leaders in the transferal of students to the University of California and the California State University. DVC ensures access to a baccalaureate degree for all members of the community, regardless of their circumstances or prior academic record, by providing the full range of freshman and sophomore level courses necessary for transfer. In order to ensure a well-trained work force, the college provides a wide variety of occupational programs and general education courses. In addition to providing strong occupational programs, DVC supports the economic development of the region through its leadership. The college ensures meaningful access to its collegiate programs by providing a broad range of pre-collegiate courses designed to develop the skills necessary to succeed in college level classes. The primary objective of Diablo Valley College is the development, growth and success of each of its students.
