| The University of California, Riverside (UCR) combines the opportunities of a major research university and its state-of-the-art facilities with a friendly campus environment that features small classes and close faculty-student interaction. UCR takes an interdisciplinary approach to undergraduate education, allowing students opportunities to expand their breadth of knowledge and fully explore their areas of interest. The diverse student body further enriches UCR's learning experience. Located in Riverside, California, the campus is 60 miles east of Los Angeles and within an hour's drive of Southern California beaches, lakes, mountains, and desert resorts. | UNIQUE PROGRAMS |
| Exceptional opportunities for undergraduates include the biomedical sciences program, unique to the UC system, in which students can earn an excelerated MD. The BS degree in business administration is the only UC program in Southern California. UCR has the only undergraduate creative writing degree program in the UC system. Outstanding students can participate in the University Honors Program. Through the Education Abroad Program, many students spend a quarter or even a year living and studying in a foreign country. |
