Campuses that Have Admission Standards Above the CSU Minimum

Some campuses in the CSU use higher standards than the minimum admission eligibility standards because of the number of qualified students who apply to those campuses during the initial application filing period. The following campuses use higher standards for students who are applying as first-time freshmen.

  • Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

  • California State Polytechnic University, Pomona

  • California State University, Chico

  • California State University, Fullerton

  • California State University, Long Beach

  • San Diego State University

  • San Francisco State University

  • San Jose State University

  • Sonoma State University

Because of the nature of its programs, the California Maritime Academy requires all applicants to complete a physical examination prior to enrollment.
