Job Shadowing

It's hard to know what a person in a particular occupation actually does during their typical workday. TV and film portray a glamorized and unrealistic version of a very limited range of occupations and professions.

To get a truer feel for an occupation, it's better to ask someone who works in a career that you are seriously interested in if you can shadow him or her for a day. If he or she agrees, you get to see what the job really entails, both the boring and the beautiful!
