Official Kickoff for "Cash for College" Workshops across California
Get the money you need to seek a college education! Plan now to attend a local "Cash for College" workshop in February 2003.
California College Goal Sunday will be held on February 2, 2003, to kick off a month of "Cash for College" workshops across California. These workshops will provide FREE, professional assistance to families completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Cal Grant GPA Verification forms necessary for Cal Grants and other forms of financial aid. Whether you want to attend a four-year college, community college, or vocational or technical school, "Cash for College" workshops can help you get the money you need.
In 2000, the California Legislature passed and Governor Gray Davis signed the historic Cal Grant Guarantee, the most generous state student financial aid program in the country. Any California student who meets grade point average, income, and asset requirements is eligible to receive money to attend college. All students need do is fill out the required FAFSA and the Cal Grant GPA Verification forms and submit both forms by the March 3, 2003 deadline.
Professional financial aid counselors, primarily from California colleges and universities, and others volunteer their time at sites statewide to help families like yours complete the universally required financial aid applications line-by-line, step-by-step.
