Independent students can manage the Net Cost by using tools provided by the college, including student educational loans, part-time work during the academic year, and savings from summer earnings. In the case of married students the spouse's earnings are also considered.

The Net Cost is not due all at once. Many costs, such as living expenses, are incurred over time.
